🐉📚 Fourth Wing Is Getting a Graphic Novel — Here's Everything Confirmed

THANH VY VUONG

Hello, lovely reader —

Basgiath War College is getting a whole new look. Rebecca Yarros's Empyrean series — the one that turned an entire generation of readers into dragon-rider obsessives — is officially becoming a graphic novel series, and we've gathered everything confirmed so far.

🐲 The Announcement

Ten Speed Graphic, Piatkus, and Entangled Publishing are collaborating on a graphic novel adaptation of the Empyrean series, covering the first three books: Fourth Wing, Iron Flame, and Onyx Storm. The series has been greenlit for six volumes total, with each novel split across two graphic installments. The first Fourth Wing volume is expected to arrive in 2027, though an exact release date hasn't been confirmed yet.

✍️ What We Know So Far

Yarros has been closely involved in shaping the adaptation, sharing progress updates with fans along the way — including confirmation that edits on the first installment are complete and that work on the second is already underway. In her own words, she's approached it as a chance to bring readers "back to Basgiath in a whole new, even more accessible way."

💛 Why This Feels Like a Big Deal

For a series that's already spawned a TV adaptation in development at Prime Video, a graphic novel format opens the door to something different: a visual, page-by-page look at Basgiath, Tairn, Andarna, and the rest of the world so many of us have pictured a hundred different ways in our heads. It's also a lovely entry point for readers who've heard the hype but haven't taken the leap into the full novels yet.

If you're counting down to 2027 right alongside us, our Fourth Wing collection has been a favourite for exactly this kind of in-between waiting — something to hold onto while the next chapter of Basgiath takes shape.

With love,
