The ApollyCon Wordsmith Scholarship 2027 Is Now Open ✨📖
THANH VY VUONGShare
Hello, lovely reader
There are moments in the book community that feel genuinely electric — not because of a cover reveal or a release date, but because of something quieter and more meaningful: an open door. The ApollyCon Wordsmith Scholarship is exactly that. And right now, that door is wide open.

✨ What Is the Wordsmith Scholarship?
Founded by #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout, the ApollyCon Wordsmith Scholarship was created with a beautifully simple mission: to empower and uplift historically marginalised members of the book community by removing the financial barriers that so often stand between a talented author and the room where their readers are waiting for them.
Through this scholarship, aspiring and established authors who identify as historically marginalised are given the opportunity to attend ApollyCon — one of the most beloved reader-author events in the bookish world — not as attendees, but as signing authors. It's a meaningful distinction. It's a seat at the table, literally.
📋 What Does the Award Include?
The 2027 scholarship is generous in scope. Awardees will receive:
A table fee waiver for the event, a hotel room at the event hotel, transportation support if needed, inclusion on two ApollyCon panels, and an optional opportunity to have their book placed in attendee bags — with no fewer than 500 copies, at no cost to the author.
For a debut or emerging author, this kind of visibility isn't just exciting. It's life-changing.
🗓️ When Is the Application Window?
Applications are open from June 22 through July 17, 2026 — so if you know an author who deserves this opportunity, now is the time to share this with them. ApollyCon 2027 will be held August 18–22, 2027, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

💛 Why This Matters to Us
At The Bean Workshop, we exist because of stories — and stories exist because of authors brave enough to write them. The Wordsmith Scholarship speaks to something we deeply believe in: that the literary world is richer, more beautiful, and more honest when all kinds of voices have space to be heard.
Whether you're an author considering applying, a reader who wants to cheer from the sidelines, or someone who knows exactly who should be filling out this form right now — we hope you'll spread the word.
Literature changes lives. So do the people who write it.
With love, The Bean Workshop 🫘
