Jacks Is Coming Back — Stephanie Garber Announces The Mirror of Infinite Endings and We Are Not Okay
THANH VY VUONGShare
💘 Dear hopeless romantics and card-carrying members of the Jacks Cult,
We have news. Wonderful, slightly terrifying, absolutely enchanting news.
Stephanie Garber — the author who gave us Jacks and Evangeline, who built the Magnificent North out of fairy tale logic and heartbreak and apple-scented longing — has officially announced a return to the world of Once Upon a Broken Heart.
The new novella is called The Mirror of Infinite Endings, and it arrives on September 29, 2026.

Take a breath. And then maybe scream just a little. You've earned it.
✨ The Story That Readers Asked For — Every Single Day
When Stephanie Garber finished writing A Curse for True Love, she had no plans to return to this world. The trilogy felt complete. Jacks and Evangeline had found each other. The story, as far as she was concerned, was done.
But readers — you beautiful, persistent, love-devoted readers — had other ideas.
According to Garber's own announcement, she received questions about a novella almost every single day for over a year straight. And rather than brush that longing aside, she let it change her mind completely.
"I love that these characters mean so much to so many of you," she shared, "because they mean a lot to me."
That sentence right there is precisely why Stephanie Garber has one of the most devoted readerships in all of romantasy.
🪞 What We Know About The Mirror of Infinite Endings
The official blurb tells us that Jacks and Evangeline have finally found their happily ever after. Everything in the Hollow is wonderful and perfect. Nothing is going to go wrong.
(You felt that, didn't you? That very particular Garber-flavoured dread?)
Nothing is going to go wrong... except, perhaps, for one secret. One that will definitely not rewrite reality, alter history, or change the ending of their story.
We're not worried at all. Not even a little bit.
What we can confirm: the novella will feature cameos from fan-favourite characters, twenty full-page illustrations by the beloved Lotusbubble — whose art already captures the ethereal warmth of this world so beautifully — and at 224 pages, it will be significantly longer than Garber's previous novella Spectacular from the Caraval series.
🏰 A World Built for Dreamers
One of the most beautiful things about the Once Upon a Broken Heart series is how it understands love as something complicated and costly and deeply worth it anyway. Evangeline is the kind of heroine who believes in happy endings even when the world tries to talk her out of it. And Jacks — morally grey, apple-carrying, heart-guarding Jacks — is the kind of love interest who makes you believe that the most interesting love stories are the ones that begin with danger.
The Magnificent North is a world of fates and fate-breakers, of bargains sealed with a kiss and stories that bleed into reality. It is, in the most honest sense, a world built for readers who feel deeply.
And now, we get to return to it.
🛍️ Carry the Feeling With You
If you've been walking around with a piece of your heart still left in the Hollow — a half-finished re-read on your nightstand, a playlist that begins with something atmospheric and ends with something that makes you think of snow-covered kingdoms — this novella is for you.
Our Stephanie Garber-inspired collection was made for readers who find as much magic in the aesthetic of a story as in its pages. The kind of people who want their bookish love to live in what they wear and carry through the world.
